Time is rapidly moving and your baby should be born in the next couple of weeks? If that is your case, then you should pull up your sleeves and start building your infant’s crib, so that he/she can spend comfortably the first days and weeks of his life.
Commence the project by brining all the components of the crib into the nursery. Some cribs can be large and assembling them outside of your baby’s room may be ineffective as it may turn out that it is too big to pass through the door.
Now start unpacking the boxes that contain the different parts of the crib. Make sure not to lose any of the components, screws, nuts and bolts. Also head to your garage or basement and amass all the tools that you will need to put it together.
Before you start attaching the different pieces together, take the time to read carefully the instructions as you don’t want to skip a step or to do something that may compromise the integrity and stability of the crib. You should also check the state of all the components and if you notice any cracks or damages you should contact the store from which you have purchase it and demand a new set or that the bad parts are replaced with solid ones.
Start the assembling by laying the headboard on the ground and attaching the inside brackets. Make sure that the brackets are well placed as they will be supporting stationary rail. Once the brackets are properly mounted, repeat the process with the footboard and once again work with extreme diligence.
Next grab the pieces that will become the mattress support and put them together. When done attach the support to crib’s frame. Note that there are several levels on which you can mount the support. Choose the highest as infants need less space. Once your child starts growing you should slowly bring the mattress lower and lower.
Now you should mount the rails on the front of the crib. Then grab the drop rail and put in place by sliding it into the rails and check to see whether it is moving smoothly up and down. If everything is correct tighten the stop crews so that it doesn’t fall down while your child is in the crib.
Before you put mattress into the crib, check it soundness. It is very important that everything is well attached to one another. If not the mattress will be too heavy and will certainly damage the crib. If all checks out, place the mattress and you are almost done.
Call a local rubbish removal company to come and clear all the accumulate garbage. You should use professional junk collection services as you will be too tired to handle the task on your own.
While the rubbish removal experts are working you can conduct the final step of the assembly process which is to mount the wheels, so that you can easily move the crib from one room to another. Note that you should always remove the wheels once you have moved the crib.
