Have you heard the news? The London zoo might very well be getting a safari zone in the foreseeable future! Yes, that’s right, with cabins and everything.
The thing is that not everyone can afford a trip to Africa for one of those magnificent safari experiences we have all read or watched films about. The administration of the Zoo has decided to right that wrong with a recent project that has been submitted to the council for approval and financing.
The plan is simple – nine cabins are to be built on the territory of the London zoo. According to the proposition, they are going to be located just next to the lions’ cages, so that visitors who chose to spend the night here will have the unique chance to hear them growling at night and imagine that they are in Zambia. It would be the closest thing to such an experience imaginable, at least the closest one not requiring that you leave the capital.
A safari in the London Zoo would begin after standard work hours. The people who choose to pay for the attraction will have the opportunity to go with the people working at the zoo and see what goes on in there after the gates are officially closed for visitors. There will surely be some surprises, but the proposition does not give any further details.
After the walk is over, you will be headed back to the cabin where you will have dinner and spend the night. Sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend, and even bring your kids to share the fun, doesn’t it?
According to us, a London Zoo safari would definitely be a great experience, especially if you want something different. It is pretty astonishing how boring even a city like London can become, so any project that is going to bring excitement and adventure in the lives of Londoners is more than welcome. What is more, it would not be either expensive nor dangerous, so you will get all the benefits of a real life safari without any of the potential drawbacks.
What truly gives us hope is the fact that the London Zoo administration has always done their work well. From the rubbish removal and waste management on the territory of the zoo, to maintaining the infrastructure of the complex to caring for the thousands of different animals that are housed in there. So, if the project for the safari turns out to be successful, there is a pretty good chance that it will become one of the most interesting things to do in London.
The people from the Zoo have already done what is expected from them. They have prepared the project and filed it with the council. The decision is to be made at a meeting this summer, so just keep your fingers crossed. We are more than certain we are not the only people who have always dreamed to go on a safari.
